Sustainability

Our idea is: Helping better the world with compelling projects. Starting with swim shorts, we want to keep improving our impact, lessen our footprint, and put smiles on people's faces.

Check out how we try to make a difference.

Life cycle assessment

True Cost Label helps us by understanding what impact our swim shorts have on the environment. We have learned that our production process produces 12,33 Kg CO2 for every short, this is 16,6%  less CO2 compared to the industry average. Furthermore by using recycled PET we use 58,7% less water in our production process compared to the industry average. With the outcome of this report we made a number of choices to improve our sustainability efforts and create a smaller footprint.

Our carbon footprint

We decided to compensate 100% of our CO2 emission through sustainable forestry projects by Trees For All. The results from the LCA rapport gave us the knowledge of how many CO2 we need to compensate. From production until the moment your swim short arrives at your doorstep, every gram of CO2 has been compensated.

The right packaging

You'll receive your bathing trousers to your doorstep, in a RePack, a reusable and returnable packaging (up to 20 times).

On average manufacturing a new cardboard box produces 220 grams of CO2. Producing a RePack produces 248 grams of CO2 but can be reused over 20 times. Therefore, using and reusing a RePack is unbeatable in environmental performance, both in reduced CO2 but also trash.

So to help us get rid of single-use waste, all you have to do is to drop the empty RePack envelope in a postbox for free, anywhere in the world!

Check out this page on how you are able to send the RePack back.

Sustainable materials

Super sustainable fabric, made from 100% recycled PET bottles. We are proud that we are able to use Repreve fabric in our swim shorts. Thereby we can give you the best quality fabric with a better consciousness.  One swim short is made out of about 11 bottles. Check out more on their website www.repreve.com.

Swim short lifecycle

Reuse is always better than recycle, so we encourage you to take good care of your swim short and wear it as much as possible. However if you want to buy a new pair of swim shorts we encourage you to donate your old pair by sending it back to us. We will make sure to recycle, repair or reuse your old swim short. Doing so you will receive 25% discount on your new pair.
